There is nothing strange about this, it's done to comply with Ebay rules. It's similar to when a person offers parts for sale off a vehicle they are scrapping. If you actually bid you need to have purchased something.....normally a wheel nut. This is just a way of advertising the land for rent.

Believe me, you wouldn't want it. It belongs to a house I went to view a year or two ago - the field gate opens directly onto the busy main road near to a bend, and the field itself is very wet and probably floods during the winter as there's a river right at the foot. You have to reach the stables by crossing the road ...
