Ebay help needed please - I have a saddle for sale

Um, could you experienced e-bayers give me some advice please?

I have never sold on ebay before. Bought lots, but never sold.

I have an Albion SLK for sale and am unsure about selling it on ebay. I know I would get a better price for it there than my saddlers. BUT, is there a paypal rule that new sellers don't get their money until positive feedback has been left or something?

My saddle is in perfect condition and I'm not expecting negative feedback, but if they don't leave feedback at all does it mean I won't get my money?

Sorry for the ramble! Just thought I'd read this somewhere before.

It's right that you don't get any money until positive feedback is left. However, if no feedback is received after 21 days - you get the money automatically. You should read the terms and conditions before you go ahead - just be certain you want to proceed. But you do get your money.

I have sold 3 saddles on Ebay - and bought 1. Never, ever had a problem.
 
I've always received my funds immediately too, I never knew about the feedback rule, but then I've been registered for a number of years now so maybe that's the difference??? You can add other methods of payment other than just paypal too if you want. You can accept payments through cash on collection, cheque (wait for it to clear before dispatching and ensure the buyer is aware of this) or postal order.....
 
It does depend on what the amount is - and I can't remember what the threshold is - but its the higher end of a couple of hundred quid.
 
I sell saddles on ebay. Be completely honest about the condition, sizes and anything with it and you will make good money on it. Ive a few for sale at the minute. If you have a look at some of my listings then that will give you a good idea of how to make the most of your saddle.

Make sure that you add plenty of photos. As a minium I normally always include

1. side on view of saddle and flaps.
2. Picture of tree
3. Rear of cantle
4. Seat
5. Girth straps and under panels.

I have sold a few saddles on ebay and always recieved money straight away! paypal is just an online bank really that ebay recommends many other companies also use paypal. ebay do take 10% of final selling price plus a fee for placing on the site. Then paypal will take a % for recieving the money ( i think its 4%). its swings and round abouts my saddler takes 15% if he sells it for you, which prob wouldn't be much different to ebay but on the last saddle I sold it sold for more on ebay than what he was looking at.
 
I bought a saddle on ebay and the seller did not get their money straight away (I paid £430). They had low feedback/sales so could be why it was held.

They however sent me an unpaid item strike before they dropped it off as agreed (so I was waiting to see it first before leaving feedback) - they thought I was the one who had not paid. So if you do sell on ebay please do not do this to your buyer as it takes ages to sort it out again.

I do look on the saddles direct website and would buy from either there or ebay. Also consider preloved. I sell on there for free and have recently placed a wanted saddle advert on there myself, so worth checking the wanteds first too.
 
I've just sold a saddle on ebay. i didnt send it out until PayPal had the money and then had to wait about 3 days until the buyer had received the saddle and given me feedback. Then PayPal released the money.

I've been on ebay for years so think this holding thing is more to do with the final purchase price. Earlier this year I sold another saddle for about half as much money as I got for this one and none of this happened.
 
I sell on Ebay a lot of Reborn babies and the odd saddle.Ive never had a problem getting my money,as soon as its in paypal I transfer it too my bank account and thats BEFORE any feedback had been left.So maybe its a rule they havefor new sellers!!!
Go to ebay and look at rules for sellers!!!
