I sold a item on ebay. its low cost so I am not too worried but I had a message from buyer saying they have the wrong item and have something else. Now I 100% know I sent the correct item and as I didnt have the item they say I sent them I am not sure whats going on. Is this some kind of scam? I have asked for a photo of wrong item but they have not sent it yet. Very odd.

How did you send it? Ask them to send a photo of it weighed it will weigh different to the item you sent.

I sent it by royal mail. Not recorded as only a cheap item. The thing they are saying they have is not something I was selling and do not have so I know I didnt send it.

I know but they will say you have sent it. Did you get a certificate of posting as it will have the weight on it. This is your proof.

Ugh sounds like a scammer. I once sent a very nice unmarked dress to someone on ebay, they got it and decided it had marks all over it (it definitely didn't when I sent it)...they took photos and of course ebay sided with them. Pretty sure they didn't fit it so just basically destroyed it to get their money back. So annoying

I've been hacked on ebay they manged to log me out and put there own bank details in my account and changed my log in name, I had just sold a £350 saddle and the money went to the scammer ebay were really good and I got the money back quite quickly.

Hells bells however do these people manage to do that, I wouldn't have a clue how to begin or even think of doing something like that!

I know mad isn't it I did get a notification a few times from ebay just before it happened saying someone was trying access my account, when it happened I couldn't get into my account as they had changed the password, I couldn't even message ebay to let them know I had phone them and it was bloody expensive the call centre is in the USA.
