Just been reading the new terms for buyers being able to claim from sellers if their item is late or doesn't arrive.

Totally unfair to the seller as it seems you don't have a leg to stand on if you've sent your item out on a non-signed for service:

What proof will eBay accept from me when buyers claim their item was not received?

We require proof of delivery. You will need online documentation from a postal company that includes all of the following:

A status of “delivered” (or equivalent) and the date of delivery.

The recipient’s address, showing at least the city/county or postcode (or international equivalent).

Signature confirmation for transactions that total £150 or more

So you've only ever got to use Special Delivery of Parcelforce Trackable? And they don't have the recipients address on their websites - so eBay will just the buyer the money back, out of your account??

And you can't claim from the Postal company because, as far as they're concerned, the item is delivered

Has anyone experienced this?

No one wants to pay for those, do they?

I've read through this

In essence nothing has changed, just PayPal style disputes can now be opened even when you pay with a cheque.

To be honest as a seller you kind of have to accept that parcels get lost and you end up footing the bill. You can claim from royal mail if you have proof of postage, but we found that the admin involved in this usually wasn't worth it.

eer tell me about it!! i sent a lady a pair of brushing boots b4 she paid as she was desp! ive never had payment and ebay do jack sh&te about it!
Plus ive had someone complain about an item i sold, even tho is was as described, the buyer got money back from paypal and kept item, rubbish!!!

Ebay seem to be doing there best to give sellers absolutely no come back for bad buyers whatsoever. I really don't understand why any seller would want to continue selling there.

It seems to me that they want to get as many people buying from the site, so that means a large market for the sellers to sell to, but then no protection whatsoever for the seller.

They are in effect acting as 'Big Brother' to help themselves to your funds whenever they feel like it.

They 'stole' £200 out of my brothers Paypal account (and therefore bank account) because someone didn't like what they'd bought from him.

As it was, the buyer ended up keeping hold of the the item (and selling it on) and refunding my brother the £200 because Paypal didn't seem to be able to work out who they should be giving the money to.

i sold an item on ebay, the buyer put in a despute as she had said the item hadnt arrived, paypal then took the money from my account and "held it" so i put in a counter dispute, showing a proof of delivery!!

She then find out, item was delivered by postman to wrong address.

Thats fine and all settled then.

THEN a week later she puts in another dispute saying the items not working, so i send another counter claim thorugh saying item works fine so shed better send it bk. So she sends it back and its quite clear that she has dropped it in a drink!! This is an Iphone!!!!

So i put the dispute bk, item not returned as delivered.

Paypal went in her favour, and i closed my paypal account!! Cannot deal with paypal, how can a finance company work in this country under a PO BOx address, with no contact number!!

Annoys the hell out of me.... i deal with postal orders only now!
