LOL! Hilarious. It looks quite snug underneath too... Maybe it is an innovative way to cover up a small patch of rainscald or something, but it is strange to post it in that advert.
Reminds me of the time at the riding school a bloke tried to put a shetlands rug on a trakhener thinking it was anti-rub thingy! But at least he was going to put the correct rug over the top.
We watched him try for a few minutes before we told him the truth LOL!
How bizarre. Perhaps the ponio is usually unrugged and has rainscald, so they've covered up the shoulder area a bit to assist healing...or to keep it's back dry for saddling and riding.
Even if I can think of two very lame reasons, I don't understand why they wouldn't have the correct rug for the pony and why they'd put that picture up for public display either.
