Ebay saddle purchase - bad feeling

I sell a lot online and my main priority is my own life. I post things at my convenience. People are getting my items at a fraction of the purchase price. I'm not a business and won't run about trying to keep people happy. I always pack well and of course always post things, I'm not a scammer. But if people want an instant transaction they can go to a darn shop (and pay the prices)! I think a lot of people have very unrealistic expectations of private individuals selling second hand items.

perhaps that depends on the amount you're selling an item for. If its a few pounds maybe you can take the attitude the buyer - who's already paid you and you have their money- can damn well wait until you're good and ready to post it to them (although id avoid buying off someone like you who thinks they're doing me some kind of favour like the plague tbh)

..but if someone has £600 of my money in their pocket that ive had the good manners to pay them promptly, then i dont think its lot to ask to get off your backside and trot down to the post office if not the next day then the very next after.

funny how people never make the buyer/sending an item a priority once they've already been paid for it isnt it?

i wonder how much faster items would arrive if buyers didnt get paid until the seller got their item..hmmm? ;)

Thanks for all the replies Seller is keeping in touch which is good. I am very twitchy as I bought a saddle some time ago on Ebay and kept getting excuses why it wasn't sent. Luckily I paid through PayPal and had to go through the dispute process and got all my money back. Turns out they never had the saddle at all and had just photoshopped pictures and listed it. This seller has good feedback (I checked before buying), so am hoping I have nothing to worry about. I guess I am expecting other Ebayers to act like I do - if someone has paid a lot of money for something, they want it quickly. I always post within 1 working day.

i had this when i ordered a rug off of ebay a few years ago (ive never used it since!). was told the rug would take 3-4 days to arrive, 6 weeks later i still didnt have it! emailed the seller multiple times, only heard from them a few days before the rug arrived to say it had been dispatched and they were sorry for the delay, i was fuming!

to be honest theyre probably not dodgy theyre probably just lazy more than anything! i hope your saddle arrives soon!

Firstly.. I think a saddle would be too large for first class post. One of the parcel force track able services would be the best, lets hope it turns up , bearing in mind factors of adverse weather, volume of traffic in mail centres and staff shortages... Can u tell I am a postal officer!!!!! Am sure it will arrive...
