There was a post recently warning about the perils of selling saddles on ebay.

Just wanted to do a new post - from a different perspective.

I've just sold a nice saddle on ebay - and the transaction was incredibly smooth. The buyer left immediate feedback this morning upon receipt of the saddle - so there's no issue with regards to receiving payment.

So, very happy.

Gosh I must have missed that post. I have sold about 6 saddles and bought 2 on ebay and had no problems at all.

Well done on your sale

Yep, it was my Bates. It's the third saddle i've sold - with absolutely no problem. And bought a very nice Albion a few weeks ago.

Had no problems selling on Ebay. The secret is to be VERY honest in the description and take LOTS of photos/measurements.

All I would say is take care to specify where you will sell to. We didn't and I had to pack my Dressage saddle to travel to Finland....Not the easiest to get right but it all worked out in the end. Packed the box with blown up balloons to hold the saddle in place.

WE have bought and sold loads of saddles on ebay. We have received a couple that weren't sized as advertised (genuine mistake), so always ask for exact measurements and photos, but any we have not wanted to keep have been sold on locally or gone back on ebay.

We have had some real bargains and also made the occasional profit
