Had Moonie in the PN and Sunny in the intro.
Sunshine dressage first. She was a cow! She bucked through her canter and was generally very inattentative. There were some very promising moments but she ruined most of them by being naughty. Scored 42.
Moon was up next, she warmed up nicely but found the ground very hard and in the test just struggled to hold everything together in the turns and downwards transitions. Her canterwork was a lot better and she even got 7s for her canters when she normally gets 5s!! I went wrong and we ended up with 39.5.
Sj there is in a lovely big manege which both girls really apreciated. Moon cruised round for a lovely clear. Onto xc and the course asked some questions but was generally very flowing and encouraging. The ground was hard though and had already decided to keep her in a rythym but not go for the time. She gave me a lovely ride, a little unfocused over the first few but really improved as the course went on and for the first time ever was taking strides out!! She got 6.8 time I think but most were having time and that was plenty fast enough on the ground.
Sunny next, she is generally renowned for being very spooky and her motto is 'if in doubt, trot' She stopped at the 2nd sj and had a pole just because she was not concentrating at all but got better as the round went on. Xc was much the same, she couldnt focus at all but jumped quite sweetly. Had a stop at the corner, probs should have gone straight for alternative but she wasnt in contention for anything.
So good day really, thrilled with Moon as she felt really good and made it feel easy. Sunshine has an excuse in that she's done nothing since September and I hope she'll be a bit better at Bovington next week.
