Had Moonie in the PN and Sunny in the intro.

Sunshine dressage first. She was a cow! She bucked through her canter and was generally very inattentative. There were some very promising moments but she ruined most of them by being naughty. Scored 42.

Moon was up next, she warmed up nicely but found the ground very hard and in the test just struggled to hold everything together in the turns and downwards transitions. Her canterwork was a lot better and she even got 7s for her canters when she normally gets 5s!! I went wrong and we ended up with 39.5.

Sj there is in a lovely big manege which both girls really apreciated. Moon cruised round for a lovely clear. Onto xc and the course asked some questions but was generally very flowing and encouraging. The ground was hard though and had already decided to keep her in a rythym but not go for the time. She gave me a lovely ride, a little unfocused over the first few but really improved as the course went on and for the first time ever was taking strides out!! She got 6.8 time I think but most were having time and that was plenty fast enough on the ground.

Sunny next, she is generally renowned for being very spooky and her motto is 'if in doubt, trot' She stopped at the 2nd sj and had a pole just because she was not concentrating at all but got better as the round went on. Xc was much the same, she couldnt focus at all but jumped quite sweetly. Had a stop at the corner, probs should have gone straight for alternative but she wasnt in contention for anything.

So good day really, thrilled with Moon as she felt really good and made it feel easy. Sunshine has an excuse in that she's done nothing since September and I hope she'll be a bit better at Bovington next week.

Well doen saw you entered and was going to ask you how you did. Moon souds like she went brilliantly!!
Naughty sunny lol!

well done, sounds like moon was a star

Sounds a productive day.
Not a bad day at the office, slap jockeys wrists for going wrong in the dressage (although will prob happen to me on saturday).
The course looked lovely last year from the photos, and jumping on a surface is a real bonus

Good run for sunshine too, good luck at Bovingdon.
Vx

i saw you doing your test in section A i was judging in ring next door. have to say though boss, i thought they did brilliantly with the ground, it was way better than portman which is down the road and hasnt been in a heat wave for the three days before it ran.
well done for getting round though.

I tried to wave at you but you were concentrating! Did you have fun? Hope it wasnt too bad a way to spend your birthday

I know they tried and it ran beutifully, really lovely event to do but being on chalk it was always going to be hard and it was. We hunt round there in the winter and even then it can be on the firm side!

It was 50/50 whether I should trot a loop or canter, I chose canter and she cantered a beautiful circle when judge beeped her horn. Darn!!

Thankyou- I'm hoping she'll be like your girl and produce many double clears, she's so good in the sj that its a pleasure to not have to worry about having fences down!

Its so nice riding a good SJer, especially now the courses are so technical and big!
You will feel the benefits when you do a 3DE on her! The final day is actually quite fun knowing your on a reliable SJer!

I did the same at Hambledon last year, perfect transistion... not needed lol

Moon sounds as though she was fab, which is just as she should be!

So glad she put yesterdays naughtiness behind her! What an exciting horse now just to get those exams over and done with and then you will be all set for a fantastic season with her I think!
Naughty Sunshine!!I got the impression yesterday that she was quite cocky and thinks that she knows best, haha! She loves her jumping tho, hope that she reedems herself for next time...

Yes Moon was fab today and warmed up for the dressage amazingly well- think I should go xc schooling the day before more often

Sunny is so capable, as you know, but sort of has the attitude of 'this is easy so I'll look over there' and then makes a mistake. She'll learn though, she jumped double clear last time so hopefully we'll get there next time out

Well done. When is Moon's Novice debut - sounds like this PN lark is a bit too easy for her

Moon now wont do anything till June *stupid uni exams* but she's going to Emily for a couple of weeks and she'll hopefully jump some foxhunters on her. The plan will then be to do 1 or 2 PNs and go novice if everything's ok

well done Boss.

very pleased they did as well as they could in the conditions.

sounds v promising with Moon, and poor Sunny did well considering she's been hidden from the scene for a while!

Good luck @ Bovington - was down there with some army mates earlier in the year and it all looks amazing!!!
