Opinions are like bum holes, everyone has one.
Lovely day - annoying dressage of 39 but I did think it was crap - we had a distinct lack of clean transitions. Was really annoyed as he had been working in beautifully. My dressage is just not coming together this year so a bit more work required I think!
SJ was fine - could not get the warm up right and was nearly screaming - too long/too short never bang on so gave up and went in. Had a bit of a spook at 2nd fence but went well for 4 faults.
XC - course was lovely a few questions but nothing very much did not put my foot down as I was not in a competitive position so just went for a nice clear which he duly did. I had 10 time faults but he is eventing on Saturday so better to save him for another day. Had one hairy moment at the hedge with ditch in front where he looked and looked and then got really high at it but at least he kept going! My friend measured that hedge and it was 3'11 so decent sized fence!
So all in all was very pleased and will post the videos when I have access to a computer at home!
But I having a major spurs problem - my horse is so thin skinned that my old spurs mark him (20mm ones) so bought some of the really rounded ones and they are fine for Dressage but he is not sharp enough off the leg for SJ and XC. I bought some new Korsteel 30mm ones and he is brilliant in them but they mark him. Any ideas? This horse is very backwards thinking and in a comp environment he needs something more than the rounded ones.
