My mum was really I'll in hospital, up in London, and every visit from France I would take the train to visit her in hospital. As we passed Brixton, I first saw an empty sand school, and then as time went on, I realised it was a riding school. This made me smile every time I went past on that train. I wish them every success!

City stables and farms play an invaluable role. It's such a shame there aren't more of them, that they aren't better funded and provisioned. They teach empathy, patience, the connection between humans and other animals/natural world, they teach self-confidence, self-awareness. Absolutely fantastic places.

Do the horses get turn out? A friend uses one in Newcastle, they offer lessons to children from deprived areas. https://www.stepneybank.co.uk/

I've followed Ebony Horse Club for a while on social media, and I think they can't give proper turnout where they are (although the horses do get turn out in the school and hand grazed in the local area), but they do give them "holidays" in other locations where they're turned away with proper turnout elsewhere.

ETA: I think city stables provide such a valuable service to people. Not being able to access stables because your parents don't drive/don't own a car is a real barrier to young people.
