Ed's Lami Progress - Day three of solitary confinement

Ed seems to be doing well – and is keeping his chin up. I rang the vets last night and she said he was allowed to go out for a walk in the paddock while I muck out, which he thoroughly enjoys.

Is it a good sign that he’s up and down rolling and sleeping in his box and in the paddock?

Has anyone got any tips on how to keep him amused? I hid an apple in his haynet today – are things like swede on a rope ok for him to play with?

All in all he’s been very very good and despite his usual grumpyness, he’s taking it all in his stride.

I am going to ring the lammi place in my lunch today and see what more advice they can give - but you guys are so good at it, I thought I'd ask again here

Glad to hear he's getting on the mend

, what a about a snack ball with a few fibre nuts in...literally a few (obviously ones that coincide with his strict diet of course) if you didn't want to buy one you could always make one with a large lemonade bottle and cut some holes into it and next time you could bob your next apple in his water bucket.

My boy has a squeaky fish, dog toy he adores it plays for hours with it, (make sure the whistle thing can't come out though) and the dogs rugby ball.

Radio and snack ball are good ideas. Looks like you're doing all the right things!

Really glad he seems to be on the mend, keep it up, it's tough , but I always think, better a walking pony than one in the field with it's legs in the air!!!!

Mine are in too, and slowly working their way through the things they shouldn't be doing!!!

Much to their amusement, but not mine!!!!

Will try a radio - Im sure Ed would like something heavy metal, like Kerrang on - so he can think murderous thoughts about me while on box rest!!

I'm going to see ribs soon - ribs I tell you!!!
