I have a 5 yr old mare now 2 weeks into 4 weeks box rest following a nasty cut to a hind leg.
She is new to the yard, still green and does need to improve her basic stable / ground manners (eg learn to stand quietly while she is tied up, behave for the blacksmith, stand quietly on the trailer etc).
She has a stable mirror and is putting up with the boredom of box rest suprisingly well (apart from trying to eject the vet from her stable when he visits). I am tying her up to muck out. Ditto to brush her over and pick out her feet, but I was wondering if there was anything more educational I could be doing with her while she is off work?
