The people with the dog who barks constantly when locked in the car are here for a meeting in our outbuilding.
LEAVE THE POOR BUGGER AT HOME, HE IS MISERABLE!!!
Pass the earplugs, please, this could go on for a while......

(Feel free to ignore this, I am only posting here because we have mutual friends on FB and I have already suggested that he might not be very happy to their faces....)

If I go out my dogs come with me.....but I am never out for more than an hour at a time and usually only once every couple of days. They refuse to be left at home and sulk when it is too hot to take them!! If the dog is barking then yes....he is not a happy dog. The owners should know better.

Oh I have no issue if the dog is chillaxed, a lot of my friends take their dogs everywhere, mine overnight in the car sometimes, but they don't bark like this (and it is an upset/anxious bark) the whole time.

He then usually sets B off, obviously, strange dog in his yard, so I shout at B, B stops, but me shouting, makes this dog even worse *sigh* bless him B hasn't had a peep out of him tonight.

Why are some people such a*seholes?

If my two were in any kind of discomfort/miserable with anything like being in the car etc I wouldn't keep persisting with it:o

As it is my two are big eejits and LOVE being in the car - when I get out they take it in turns to 'drive' and keep my seat warm:rolleyes: The Moo:cool: won't even get out when we get home sometimes................:D

ARRGGGHH just been to take young man for a pee. They have parked RIGHT in front of B's run and the dog is sitting in the front seat gobbing off at him and it has set off the hazard warning lights. WHO DOES THAT?!

Bonkers! Leave a nasty post it on the windscreen, or as my MIL did one day, butter a piece of A4 with an indecipherable note on it and smear it on.

He is one of my mother's good friends and she hates conflict so I am just going to complain to you guys instead :p. Last time I left a note on a windscreen it ended up like World War III :o

Poor boy.
Some people just don't get it.

My shepherd has spent the night playing with peach flavoured bubbles and my goldie has just finished watching Frozen Planet with us - she can't decide whether she wants to be a polar bear, penguin, arctic wolf or a hairy caterpillar just yet....

Spoilt???? nooooo.....:o

Floof would like to eat all of those things :p and loves all the noises.

In the end, dog actually escaped from the car when they opened the door as it was so wound up and ran around the yard for a while with everyone trying to catch it (we live on a very busy, fast road), B didn't make a sound, he was staring like 'What the hell?!'

OK, I will have to say something to the couple, I met this delightful dog out on a walk today.....spinning, barking, lunging and dragging his lady owner (on a harness, of course, so he was allowed to direct his snarling, barking head wherever he wanted to) towards me and the pup, who was not batting an eyelid at him, she did the classic thing of making her dog stop and set up a Mexican stand-off as we walked past, shouting five different commands over and over again, he was completely ignoring her, five minutes later she was still fighting to get him to settle down and yelling at him, I did not stop with her as I did not want to wind the dog up further (she was walking with a stick :o) but I might ask them to come up for a day....

....not slagging, been there myself and it took someone else to say 'what the hell are you doing?!' for me to get my act together. Feel a bit sorry for her actually.

Me dumb- what has ^^^^^ got to do with dog left in car? oh and please help the woman!!! You could have described me today (except he had a headcollar on, and we carried on walking, and the woman walked towards us instead of giving us some space, and he wasnt snarling just squealing!!!)

Told you I was dumb!!!!! :)

Dex had a springer pup run full bore at him the other day- "oh poop" thought I... but no Dex greeted it beautifully, pup waggling its belly at Dex..... followed by owner "Teddy, come, Teddy"

Its ok say I despite his looks/size he is not aggressive, wasnt worried about that said the chap just this blumming pups recall!!! They had a nice little game- glad Dex was on lead or may have resulted in flat pup, and Dex even backed down when their other dog asked him in not too many words not to jump on her head- he reads dogs really well- if only he would be less frigging excited by em,................

:D

I've done a bit of reading up about the breed, I am getting a lot of 'can be destructive and bark excessively when bored or not exercised enough'
'Needs socialisation in youth so that protectiveness doesn't become aggression'
'Aggression toward other animals - chasing instincts'
'Strong-willed mind of his own, requiring a confident owner who can take charge'

It's an Airedale, if anyone has experience of the breed and can give me any pointers to pass on to her? I can't imagine walkies are much fun :(

My mum had one years ago before I was born so we are talking eons ago, he was my mums dog of a lifetime, obedient, socialable and a good house dog.

Years ago more people knew how to handle dogs and dogs had to conform and fit in with family life. Im not talking beating into submission but firm boundaries.
