After much deliberation, OH and I have decided to get a puppy. We've decided to wait as long as it takes to find the right pup - temperament is paramount and we want a parson russell type.
As it happens, I asked a friend at the yard yesterday if she could let me know if she hears of any suitable pups. She has had terriers (and many other dogs) for over 20 years. She phoned me today to say she knows someone who breeds dogs, all of whom are happy, healthy, friendly puppies, who I should call. Just called and they have a long legged 3/4 jack russell, 1/4 border, 11 weeks old, who has grown up around 7 cats (very important to me) so it may be perfect
We're going to see him tonight!!! eeeeek!!
Soooo....what do I need to look out for? what questions do I need to ask? We couldn't take him straight away as we'll want to sort out some time off work anyway.
I need focus to stop my heart ruling my head.
If he is 'the one' and we go for it, I know I will need: babygates (x2), crate, pen, bed, toys, bowls, chews, collar, lead, and will need to sort out insurance - anything I haven't thought of? Holidays are sorted - we're going away for 4 days in the summer but he can go back to the breeder for a holiday then.
eeeek I am excited!
