So stressed and excited at the same time.
So a couple of years ago my husband and I started looking to buy our own equestrian set up so I could better manage my mare and her health problems. We put our current property, a a city centre apartment , on the market, only to realise that we fell foul of the cladding scandal. We pulled out of the property we wanted to buy due to this, and then for those that remember my posts and provided love and support last summer, will remember that my mare unexpectedly passed away.
Well, into 2022 we had a deposit saved for a new place and our current mortgage provider said if we rented out our apartment we could take another mortgage to buy a new house, we looked at a few and found one in North Lincs that needed freshening up but it was a great layout house, well fenced grounds and ticked all the boxes for house size and had a good amount of external grounds and buildings with a productive hay field included.
We put an offer in just below ask and it was accepted.
A few hiccups with sellers onward purchase along the way and completion delayed due to this but we have just had an email from solicitors saying all queries resolved and just waiting on sellers to suggest a completion date.
I am very excited but tearful at the same time as it's a little bitter sweet after working our way towards this for several years to enable me to manage my late mares conditions better and have her as long as possible and just outside the back door.
It's not all bad though as I will be taking my sisters beloved cheeky gelding who has had to take early retirement due to joint issues and being stabled 23 hours a day at her yard for 5 months of the year is doing him no favours.
Anyway so this is my update on my return to the forum after nearly a year away.
I'm sure I'll be picking the brains of all you wonderful horsey people over the coming months and welcome all support and ideas.
Once exchange has taken place I'll post some pics.
