The lady who has the yard next door to me left be a wrapped posh box of chocolates at the yard this morning. We have been neighbours for 2 years - yard neighbours not home, but we have the same landlord.

I have several pressies I could give her from socks (nice welly ones), chocolates or even a cheese and nut selection. Should I give her a present? I feel like I should as she gave me one but at the same time it was totally unexpected.......

I have fed her ponies for her on occasion and came to her rescue during the summer when she had a bad fall out hacking and I went and fetched her pony back (she went off in an ambulance). No biggie, just helping out so maybe its her way of saying thank you.

That's very nice of her, maybe you could give her some chocolates too and a card? I wish nice things like that happened down my yard...

It's really nice of her, but perhaps she was just waiting for her chance to say thank you, and by sending her a gift in return, it will probably spoil the sentiment because she obviously feels indebted to you for your help
