Finally bit the bullet last night and decided with OH that we just can't afford the time/money for the number of horses we have. So his mare is for sale (on the breeding forum on here if anyone is interested in details, she's for sale as a broodmare due to injury).
And we have advertised my mum's pony on the Pony Club website as for loan with a view to sale. Just had first phonecall (very quick!) from a loely lady who sounds ideal, and would be thrilled to do loan with a view to buy. She is just checking with YO and will call me back later re coming to see her on Saturday!! Yikes!
So anyway, she's going to ask me what price star would be for sale for if we do sell her, and I don't have the foggiest! She is 13hh, bay mare, 14 years old with very very low mileage, not papered but fully passported, wormed, teeth done etc. Will go with saddle bridle and various rugs. She's not a complete novices ride, would be going to play at gymkhana games with this family. She has had lami in the past (4 years ago) but seems to now be absolutely sound, has lived out this winter no problem and just coming back into work, so lami seems very manageable on properly restricted grazing. Lady coming knows all about the lami and was very quick to say things ike 'right, so she needs to avoid long periods of trotting or doing anything too much on hard ground etc', so initial impressions seem good.
BUT I have no idea what this sort of pony is worth? Ballpark figures anyone? She is reat to box/load/clip/shoe etc and fine in traffic. Snaffle mouth. We really aren't selling her for the money to be honest, would be equally happy with a long term loan but feel like I need a figure to give her.

Crikey, thats more than I thought!! Even at 14? I suppose ponies have a longer 'shelf life' than horses don't they.
So bearing in mind that she has had lami in the past if I asked £1000 they'd be getting a good dea would they?
