My poor little hairy TB has got lice :-( I haven't a clue where he's picked them up from - he lives out 24/7 but none of the others have any signs. He's out at the moment in a HW rug with a neck on - that will be coming off first thing in the morning when I smother him in Coopers to kill the little b*ggers. I have a clean rug for him but not a very thick one - so I need to get his current one cleaned and louse free. My problem is how?! I was thinking of taking it to the local launderette (husband will kill me if I use our washer!). I assume the hotter the better to kill the lice and any eggs but then surely it will no longer be waterproof and the rug a waste of time?

Any experiences you'd be happy to share would be gratefully taken on board - I'm itching just thinking about it!
