cost of the shoes in front and trim behind is ok!! She's a big girl with big feet!! its the cost of the vet which is dear! Have you tried her with sedalin or acp? heavy horses can go like zombies with acp! just a thought...

tried sedalin, no effect at all - her feet are like dinner plates, so happy with the 55 quid, and I have been working like mad to get her to pick her feet up. She will now, just not sure wether to sedate her one more time......mmm

*feels faint for you*
That is very expensive all in all, if she didn't need the sedative it wouldn't be so bad.

Have you being reducing her sedation each time?

Ditto cptrayes! Why on earth did you have shoes put on? I don't know a single clydesdale who couldn't manage without shoes?

£170 every 6 weeeks - you're mad!

I told you I was mad! I have only had her 2 months, and she was shod on arrival. When we first got her front shoes off (god knows how they got them on!) I had to leave her unshod for 3 weeks til I could arrange for the vet to come for sedation, in that time, she did get a bruised front foot - I think next spring I might try again and see if she can manage. That said because I have worked so hard with her front feet, she now picks them up beautifully so may be able to avoid sedation this time, we'll see....
