Took my horse XC yesterday, it was the first time he had been anywhere in the lorry, let alone to a competition for 10 months due to lorry issues and both of us being unwell.
I did the smaller class than usual which was good as he was sooo excited ! The first 5 or 6 fences he was really green, but after that he seamed to have a YAHOO!
moment and then he just took off and we did the rest of the course at high speed.
By the time we came accross the last field, every time I touched him with my hands or seat he was leaping in the air
and then charging off again, so I had to start missing out some of the 'non galloping' fences, so we didn't come to a sticky end.
He's normally not too bad so I am hoping that he has got it out of his system and will be calmer next week, otherwise I am going to have to invest in a severe brake upgrade!
