I used efeeds for the first time a few weeks ago.
I got half a dozen bales of haylage and 20 sacks of White Horse Wood pellets.
This is the first time I have used wood pellets so I cannot comment on how they compare to other brands. But I have not had any problems with them at all.
They delivered two days after I ordered as it said they would on the website. Only issue I had was that I did not get a call to give me a delivery slot so had to chase them up. However the guy answering the phone was super helpful, said he'd investigate and get straight back to me and that is exactly what he did.
Thanks - would be really handy for me. Currently using normal shavings and have heard mixed reviews on the white horse bedding - please let me know how you get on with it
I was not impressed, they delivered my feed to the wrong address!! luckily it was to a house just down the road from the yard and they had the common sense to come and tell us it had been delivered to them, I hate white horse wood pellets i used them for a couple of months in the winter but i've gone back to shavings
I used the bedding but also went back to shavings. My boy is very wet and it just didn't work for him. Easy enough to muck out and no smell but I wasn't saving anything on shavings in the end.
What size trucks do they deliver the haylage/feed in - are they huge? Would like to order but worried a bit about access...
That was the thing. I can make do with one bale of shavings as he's on rubber mats so only needed a sprinkle of shavings and decent banking but on the pellets it just all seemed to mush into a wet mess. Definitely worth a try though sounds like they may suit your horse better.
My horse is on White Horse Bedding and is very clean. Its really easy to muck out and as the bales are smaller, its easier to store.
But...
About 2 bags are equal to one bale of shavings, despite what the website says. When it gets wet, you have to take a hell of a lot out so on balance, its the same or slightly more expensive than shavings.
Its a really nice idea but in my personal opinion, I'd rather use normal shavings, and when I have finished mine, Ill be going back to Hemcore or something similar. Hope that helps!
Ah I think I might be sticking to normal shavings then. Its a shame this company don't do normal shavings maybe ill drop them an email and see if they are planning to. Its about time there was a delivery service for small amount. I have a right game to go and get shavings as I am the only person on the yard that uses them and it involves stealing the OHs car (can't get many in a ka) and driving miles out of way. They ve quoted £5 delivery and as they seem cheaper and it probably doesn't cost me far off in fuel getting to shop I would be more than happy to pay this. Other places only seem interested if you are buying 50 bales plus or something which I can't afford or store but a months supply would be good.
Hellloooo everybody, I was just searching for efeeds and see they have shut. I use to use them a fair bit. but lately I havent been needing alot. Just wanted to let you know that i have found a new online shop its called petfeedsuk they are clearly still setting up with everything but there are plenty goodies to choose from.
