Effect of generator noise on equine hearing

As horses have more sensitive ears than humans, could continued exposure to a generator cause loss of hearing? I'm talking about the jenny running pretty much 24/7 to supply power for a mobile home.
Have any studies been done about effects of noise in horses?
Am also interested in what effect this kind of ongoing noise would have on human hearing.
I know it sounds like an odd question but I'm trying to find good reasons to stop some undesirable people moving onto the land next to mine.....

Im no expert but I would guess they would get used to it perhaps like if they were near a busy motorway??? It would drive me insane if it had been a quiet area before, I would think you could complain if you live there and it affects you...
