Effective Fly/Midge Spray

Can I have recommendations for an effective fly/midge spray? Many thanks.
Midges, Scottish-strength, a very fine oil spray, cosmetic rather than culinary grade.
One often mentioned is Avon Skin So Soft (various scents), but seems to be the oiliness they hate more than the scent. Do a patch test to make sure no adverse reaction.
For the horse, Boett blanket cover is very effective, oil spray all the bits uncovered. Pretty good v. flies also, but there are so many different types of biters and stingers....
Sweet itch centre sells and advises on various anti-midge products, good luck.

I find I need different products for different flies, so I use Barrier super Plus early in the season against those little black blood sucking ones, then progress to Bitebeck (essential for the crab flies) , then the horse flies need Phaser, then in the autumn it;s back to Barrier.

Zero Flyz. If you buy it and it doesn't seem to be working, then if you contact the maker she will send you some more of the formula to mix in. It doesn't completely stop them but it does reduce them considerably. It's also natural ingredients.
