as some of you may no i bought my colt 6 weeks ago he was wormed infested he still has pin worms at the moment his egg count came back today at 57 is this a good count or high as iv never used egg counts b4 also he has been worm with equest and equest pramox in the space of 6 weeks so hes had a lot do you think it would be wise to have bloods done for tapeworms or should he be covered with the wormer hes already had. regarding pin worms he has another wormer wednesday via his bum as he cant have any more through his mouth as hes had to much he pooed out around 40-50 worms and is now still just pooing 1 or 2 out at a time but there still alive vet asked me to repeat it in his bum today but after stating my concerns of him having so much wormer we have decided to give him a break to let the other wormers get out his system vet coming out in 2 weeks to give 2nd vaccination so she will do another body check on him

57 is a good low count < 50 is counted as a nil return and no action required. Sounds to me like you and your vet are on top of things. I am surprised you had a worm count done so soon from worming as wormer generally continues to work for 28 days after administering. Poor foal hope he is clear soon :)

thanks for your reply had worm count done as vet thought he had worm resistant worms so wanted to ee what his count was is it likely having a double dose of equest pramox he will have any tape worms as vet said tapeworms wnt show up on egg count so didint no if it would be worth me doing blood test to see or if it would be a waste of time as hes been treated with the pramox to be honnest im not that clued up about worms or worming as i only did my horse once a year as theres only my 2 horses here and never had any probs with worms.
