I have been thinking about joining mostly for the training benefits but have just looked at their Pre/early season training and there are none north of the border.

Is this normal or do they offer anything to us poor neglected Scots?

I joined at Burghley last year, mainly for the spectating opportunities (but I understand what you mean about the southern-based training!). But they are very reasonably priced to join - and at Burghley, they had a lovely marquee you could go in, with free tea/coffee/soft drinks and snacks (cheese and biscuits, cakes etc) all day, and great coverage of diferent jumps on loads of screens. Good atmosphere in there too, as it was close to the start/finish, so riders were coming in saying how they had got on, and you really felt part of it all. They have similar marquees places like Twelsdown PAVo champs, Chatsworth - and they were very welcoming and friendly. Defiteily recommended!

don't think they do Blair, but I could be wrong.

my boy is in Holland at the moment perfecting his dressage. Ruth is there training with Bert Rutten, and has taken Simba and 2 others. Apparently he is going very well, and his changes are looking good! So should do a smart dressage text at his first event at Witton.

thanks - his next proper outing will be winter dressage regionals at Gleneagles at the start of March. He usually goes well in Scotland, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed
