So with my stress head on, I’m thinking - great , just as things open up, we get this, which means we can’t go out again ?

I have the most ridiculous situation in respect of this problem. 2 new horses came to our yard a few days ago, I have been in quarantine after travel so have not been there, but I called the pro responsible for them and he assured me that they would be quarantined and nowhere near other horses, and that he would take precautions regarding their handling. On Thursday I received a call from a friend on the yard telling me that she had brought my horses in, because the new ones had somehow been placed in the paddock next to mine. Post and rail fencing, so of course they would have had contact. Now I am sure that they are fine, but this is just ridiculous. To top it all last night someone sent me a photo telling me that one of mine seems to have a minor problem with his eye, which of course can be one of the first signs of EHV. My vet is going there this morning, I can't go as I am only today out of quarantine but have had a cough, so I need to be tested before mixing with anyone. I am quite sure that it is nothing, they come from a yard where EHV has not been detected, but it is right next to one with 2 confirmed cases, so that gives some cause for concern. I very seldom get angry, but last night I could not even pick up the phone to this pro, because I was so furious that I knew I could not have a civil conversation about it. All of this worry for absolutely no reason, we have a small unused stable block that they have been put in, and they could easily have been turned out in one of the far off paddocks. In my opinion they should not have been moved at the moment, but I could have accepted it if proper precautions were taken. I assume the reason that they were next to mine is that someone was too lazy to take them to the far paddocks. To say that I am angry would be a gross understatement right now.
