Elan Valley - what's it like?

From Sunday to Thursday I'm doing my gold Duke of Edinburgh in the Elan Valley.
Anyones know what it's like? It looks very pretty from the internet.
The weather looks a mixed bag from sunshine to heavy showers and even the possibility of snow!

It's beautiful, mountains, lakes and forests. Expect anything in the way of weather, it is Wales after all, take everything from sunblock to waterproofs and you should be OK. Hope you enjoy it, stay safe and warm

Agree with Rhandir. Its likely to be cold there anyway even if it is sunny so take warm clothes. And a camera too

Sounds like a nice mix of terrain, will be taking a camera, we are then using the pictures we take to produce a camera.

The one thing I hate is being cold so that should be fun

It is a very remote area and can be quite wet and misty.

Was up there a couple of weeks ago with D of E groups. Lost two of them - they didn't get into camp until gone 9. Very scary. Absolutely gorgeous but no phone signal whatsoever and it poured down for three days.
