So this past weekend I went off to camp with my new girl, Koko. We had been going well until I had to have the paramedics out to get me off the floor after injuring my back getting out of the car of all things!

I had been back riding for 5 days so the thought of 4 hours of lessons per day culminating in a one day event was a bit daunting!

First afternoon was SJ and we entered the arena nervously but soon were flying and Koko was pulling me into 90cm, a far cry from me freezing in fear on New year's eve in front of a 40cm cross pole!

We had a group hack where she bounced every step of the way, thoroughly disappointed that she wasn't hunting!

Cross Country lesson arrived and we started popping the smallest fences but by the end we were going over some of the metre fences and she was just a dream.

Dressage isn't our strong point but she tries so, so hard and after listening to our instructor she did some great work.

The instructors we had were all really good, pushing us just enough whilst being really encouraging and our group of four all conquered some big demons and were able to complete the one day event!

I got so much from the camp and I'm already planning on going to our first SJ competition this weekend!
