Charlie and I stormed around the Mini course, overtook 2 other riders and finished 12 seconds under the optimum time. We were placed 2nd (winner was 13 seconds over time, but fewer penalties for going slower).

He was attentive, accurate and fast - you cannot ask for me.

Glad you had a good round and sounds like you enjoyed it. The 2'6" Novice caused carnage especially in the pairs class. Novice not very encouraging for true novices IMO. The drop into the second water, without an alternative, was more the sort of question affiliated Pre Novice horses are asked! My horse needed more than the mini but is no where near ready for PN questions.

Was the chap taken off in the ambulance OK do you know?

That drop is a bit tricky, but I cannot get Charlie over that big log just after the water. We can do all the other novice fences fine.

Didn't see anyone being carted off. When was that?

Think it was about 3 ish after the hold on the course for the Novice pairs. As we pulled off the lorry park the paramedics were waiting at the end of the drive with their blue lights on, rider sitting in back of paramedics vehicle with oxgen mask on. Met an ambulance coming up the road with the lights flashing etc and presumed it was going to meet up with the paramedics.

I didnt even attempt the drop into the water but managed the log out. Didnt think it was right to ask mine to do the drop, he is only just brave enough to step into water and has never done steps. To combine the two at this stage would blow his brains. Will have to hire the course and go and school that way he will have time to work it all out.

i entered the intermediate and they were definatley up to height!!
after walking the course i thought the novice would have done me but it was a bit late!!
i got round slow and with two refusals at the sunken road and the house but i jumped both the broken bridge and log trachanna and they had other options.
i was amazed to get round!! it was my first ever xc event and first anything for about 5 years!! lol
did you see the log pile commming uot of the woods it was gi-gan-tic
as for the open!! lol jesus mahusive
