went down to eland lodge today and i can't believe how good my horse was!!! me and friend went down x-country schooling a week or so ago to decide what classes i should do my baby! we decided on the novice pairs with her experienced welshie to give me and kiwi the confidence of going round a course and the intermidiate individual and see how she went. she was absolutely fantastic!

in the novice pairs we decided for experience kiwi would go infront and if need be boy (friends horse) would over take and lead her. for the first one she was so excited she decided the jump was far to confusing and started to veer off but boy came infront and stopped us from getting a refusal and after that she flew round it as if she'd done it all her life! (this is only the 2nd ever hunter trials shes done!!)

in the intermidiate the course was bigger than i was expecting so took a detour over a couple and took the smaller opitions! she flew round this as well and i couldn't believe it when we got to the end and we where clear!

she's a 5 year old and some people might say i'm rushing it with her but my friend is very experienced and has brought on her other horse and it was her idea for me to do the intermidiate! i still can't believe how effortless kiwi made the course feel. only one hairy moment where we jumped out of the woods over a big log pile and had a tight turn to another fairly hefty table/log pile type thing.

unfortunately no pictures as dad is useless with a camra and had to rush off before we could buy a photo!

sorry for the huge essay i'm just soooooo proud of my little girly! she made it feel so effortless and easy and didn't feel like a youngster at all! i'm not doing anything bigger than that with her though just yet!!! she just loves x-country soooo much!

sorry for rambling

You're not rushing her at all, the Intermediate is the equivalent to the intro BE course there, and I have done exactly the same on my 5yo!! Well done! Sounds like a fab day

puts my mind a bit at ease! i know some people take it really slowly and don't do things like this until they are much older! she just loves it!
