What is everyones opinon on these? And how often should you school in one?

Am stuggling on the flat and found using the bungee last night, could really concentrate on my seat/position/leg ect and May seemed much more willing and when she did decided to stick her head up she still could!! But found our schooling session much more productive.

Just wanted everyones opinions on these.

Thanks

my friend has two grade a's and whenever she schools she rides them both in a bungee. its up to you, if you feel shes working well in it then as often as you want. i school bloss in draw reins everynight, i know people on here dont agree with that but its my choice.

I used one for the first time on tuesday night. It also helped me with Shadow. I was told that you should use it for a weeks worth of schooling, and gradually loosen it so it eventually has little or no effect, so that you are basically not using it, to wean both you and the horse off it. By the end of the week the horse should have got the idea that long and low is good, and that they should have stretched their lop line muscles. I have also been told to keep sessions short as its hard work for horses not used to using those muscles. I used mine for 10 min for the first time and although it helped it did not improve his way of going 100%. However, he did not resist in it, as there was very little tension in the elastic which to me suggests that he knew what i wanted all along! This is just what i have been told by an AI so its not gospel. But i hope it helps!

Hi my instructor gets me to ride in the bungee, ocassionaly when Ryu 'needs a good scrunch', I attach it either side to the girth it goes through the bit and instead of controlling the length using that dongle thing on the end I just hold the elastic in my index fingers, it really steadies my hands and Ryu works allot more consistantly, I only usually use it for a few canter transitions then let it loose, but his work afterwards is usually allot better, sometimes he hangs a bit of my hands and I find myself letting the contact go then jabbing with my inside hand using the bungee stops this and lightens him up. I've lunged him in it too.

I think they are great!!!
I use mine only a couple of times a week, if that, for about 20 mins, it really helps me as i struggle with my contact and can't get him to flex at poll. With the bungee on he happily flexes.
I would say to keep using it, but make sure you don't over do it, and keep sessions short to begin with.

Thanks for that, i do have it loose (as long as it will go) and it did'nt improve her way of going 100%, but it was a hell of a lot better!!

I use one almost everytime I ride my mare, she is very long and I find my small frame struggles to keep her together, she is a lot better in this and doesn't fight, I tried the draw reins but she was more inclined to panic in that
