My reaction exactly! I've been searching the house for my copy of The Lame Horse to see what Rooney had to say about elbows but can't find it!Yikes.

From what she says though, it sounds like you either have to give up completely or just live with what presumably is a mild condition in most horses. Having seen the vid, I'm pretty sure my mare had this and probably from early on - she used to walk down hills in that manner. She would, however, also happily trot and canter downhill in her younger days.... possibly in her older days too had I let her!
