Please can anyone recommend an electric fence energiser?

I currently have a little energiser run on D cell batteries, but have found several 12V wet batteries in my possesion, and a source for more of them in the future.

I have been looking at the energisers - but I don't have a clue what one to get!

I started looking at Rutland - mainly because that is the make of the little one that I have. Our biggest field is 4 acres, and probably the longest stretch that I fence across is about 120m long (very very approx) - obviously with 2 strands of tape.

I don't mind spending a bit more money on this - if it is worth it - and Ido want something that is going to properly zap my 2yo on her nose well and truly - she has taken to wrecking and / or jumping the fence at every oppurtunity

Thanks for any help / tips / advise.

I have had various energisers I now have a gallagher one it is 4 years old and still going strong, they are expensive but most definatly the best...hope this helps....

farmcareuk google them or they are on ebay-super quick delivery and good value. I got the hotshock one (higher powered) in a kit, it came to 140 with delivery- this was with 200m of fencing 20 4 ft posts, a fence tester to test strength and gate hook etc!!!

Cool - thankies for all the replies!!

Scotsmare - I think those ES120 ones are just dry batteries - I have a nice supply of 12v wet batteries, so want something to use those with!

Chicomio, Tikino and rachaelthegreat - I'm liking the look of the farmcare ones - they look quite reasonable compared to most of the others I have looked at!

perfect11s - I will definitely be taking a look at these now I am home from work and can get back on the internet proper!

without a doubt Hotline - I have run several of their units with no problems whatso ever - I would reccommend the Hobby unit to most horse owners, plenty of power easy to use, good connections, or if you have access to mains look at the Gemini dual power units, 2 year warranty as well!! ( And no, I don't work for Hotline!!)
