Hi Guys,

I have just turned my electric fence on. It's not been used for a couple of months.

It's a 10,000v mains unit and has a ground/earth wire running from the unit to the fence.

I have checked the entire fence for shorts and cannot find any. I have used a voltmeter and it doesn't seem to be loosing much although it is a rubbish v meter with lights but.... my ground wire is clicking loudly.

I have noticed it clicking quietly before, but this is like a short..... it's between hedge and concrete base boards of fence... do you think that it's likely damaged or is there any other reason it would be clicking?

Thanks

It could be damaged. I have cables under the ground that shouldn’t get damaged, but they do. It’s not touching anything it should be is it?
