Need to replace plastic posts which were wrecked by a horse who didn't see the white tape because of the snow. When he took the whole line with him, all the posts snapped as it was so cold. Has anyone used pigtail posts. They are metal and will last longer, but are they safe enough??

Don't touch them! Too dangerous for the horses (or at least for ours!)

To be honest, I think more damage can be done by the plastic ones as they snapped raggedly in the middle and there was a sharp point left sticking out of the ground. I am thinking that the metal ones will pull out, and plastic ones too have metal spikes on the bottom. I was really wondering if there was any OTHER reason not to use the pigtail type that I haven't thought of. Sounds daft, I know. Arghhh
