Have had a Hotline Peregrine 230v AC 50HZ 10W (5.6 stored jules whatever that means!) which has now died on me, was hoping a simple fuse would fix it but Nope.

I live in Devon and could easily pop it down to Newton Abbot to the Hotline workshop, but....... they charge £66 just to look at sommat and I reckon 'tis better wisdom to put the money towards something new as this one has been around for a good few years now.

Need a goodish punch in whatever I get as have a 10-acre field sub-divided into tracks and lots of little paddocks, plus sheep. So equivalent power is needed!

Any recommendations please?? Whilst wanting to support a local/Devon-based firm, I've had to return TWO Hotline fencers whilst still under guarantee in the past - this particular item (the Peregrine) and also a little Shrike I bought last year........ so quite happy not to buy another Hotline if that makes sense.

Ideas?? What do people use and are happy with?

my current one(super eagle) and previous one was Hotline and very happy with both of them. Absolutely no problems, both mains ones. I have endless fencing, all the hedges are fenced to protect them as well as fields.

This wasn't my experience of hotline at all. The first mains fencer, quite old, was damaged when a lightening strike hit the fencing wire in the field and travelled back to the unit. Couldn't really afford to replace it so I sent OH plus a £30 limit into the NA workshop to see what could be done. They repaired it in that budget and I collected it a few days later. On top of that and to my total surprise they asked me if I would like a torch (the rechargeable ones) I was given a complimentary torch. Obviously they were older stock and they had changed the design but I thought they were a great company to deal with.

Whether it is more cost effective to repair or replace is a different matter but just wanted to say what good service I had received and how good their units were.
