Elegant monarch

I found out about my new mare's breeding yesterday and (even though i can't remember who her old owners said her dam was) i've been trying to find out a bit about her sire (Elegant Monarch) but can't seem to find anything on the web. Does anyone know where i can look him up or know anything about him? Thanks in advance!

I had a mare by him. He is dead now. He was a TB stallion and he stood in Devon at a big stud called Vauterhill, they don't seem to have a web site. He was by Ardross who I think won the gold cup. I called the stud owner (Mr Barr) to talk to him about the stallion, he said he was a big strapping Chestnut with a good attitude. He won a couple of races, but he had a serious injury so he went to stud instead. At Vauterhill they stand Bandmaster who is a TB who throws a lot of show horses. They also stand TBs for racing. Elegant Monarch threw a lot of event horses. My own mare, was the most lovely, kind girl you can imagine, she was a very substantial TB. I was unable to find any photos of him. Good luck with your mare, if she is a fraction of the horse I had, you will be very happy.

Call the guy at Vauterhill he seems to have an incredible memory he may know the mare.

Thank you for that info. I'm very very happy with my girl so far. She too is the kindest, most laid back mare both to handle on ground on to ride. I guess she takes after her dad!! She also has the most amazing copper sheen to her coat. Thanks again, i may give them a ring at some point.
