Hiya

So, because Eridge cancelled I needed another outing and have managed to enter dressage tomorrow. The problem is they only had room in the elementary and I've never done that level before. So please could someone let me know whether I have to do sitting trot? I've downloaded test from dressage diagrams but that doesn't say anything about whether trot has to be rising or sitting. I know we're not going to win but it's an outing and will help stop him getting bored.

Thanks in advance.

Oooh err, that'll be entertaining. Thanks for letting me know so quickly. Must remember to halt the first time up the center line too.

Phew! That'll make it easier. I'd have no hope of any sort of lengthening if I had to sit (not that I have much more chance if I rise actually

). Quite looking forward to it in an odd sort of way. Thank goodness for lovely entries secretaries that let you enter at the last minute.

I am also doing the elementary 43 and novive 22, which will be amusing for all to watch!! had planned to go to eridge

I dont even have a copy of the novice test!! going to have to have someone to read!!!

However, do have elementary 43 (2006) and on the back it says that all trot work must be sitting, unless its medium trot??

Yup I'm going to Oldencraig. I'm doing elementary 44 ( I'm sure she said 44 and not 43?? but maybe there are lots of classes), managed to get into novice 26 too. Have to do the novice HC though because it's restricted and the rules say horses doing affiliated eventing can't do the restricted classes.

Good luck today, reckon there will be a few of us who aren't very well prepared for the tests!

The rule allowing rising trot for all the Elementary trot work was changed in the 2006 rule book. Any test sheets that were printed before then will obviously say sitting. As the new tests are printed 4 or 5 months before they come into force, that is doubtless why 43 (2006) says sitting as it was printed before the decision was made to change.
