Not really worth it IMO. Leather stretches a lot and looks older quite quickly. But very comfortable for horse. The Albion bridle is nice if your horse suits a heavy noseband. Otherwise the Kate Negus range. Devacoux bridles are very smart too. Can you tell I'm into bridles!
I have the Jefferies Premier and like it a lot, I also have seen the Albion and it is lovely but a bit pricey!! Not sure how much better the Elevator is than the copies.
A girl at my last yard had one and it was really nice and very good quality. However both my bridles are Stubben and I love these bridles so I would recommend them! Not sure if they do a comfort style though?
Most bridle makers now offer a cheaper leather bridle with a comfort headpiece- rheinegold, heritage etc. My heritage looks the bees knees after I changed the cheekpieces to billet ones (Hate buckle fastenings on bridles) but I dont have that sort of money to spend on the more expensive makes.
I got a new Gallop comfort bridle on e bay for £21 as I wanted to try the elevator concept without the elevator price tag!! It made a HUGE difference to Cat's way of going, but I still haven't bought an expensive comfort cos the Gallop's still totally fine despite being used every day for a good 2 years.
Adore my Elevator. The leather is buttery soft and the design is brill. Unlike some of the others it is cut back behind the ears which makes a huge difference. I had the Albion previous which was nice but very chunky (suits some better than others) and the headpiece didnt make a huge differnce to my mare where the elevator did (but half the problem was her ears and the elevator is cut back with very soft folded leather.) The Albion has a normal cavesson/ flash though not a crank which I prefered.

Having compared all before making my purchase, the Albion is far superior to any other comfort bridle IMHO.
[/ QUOTE ] I have just ordered an Elevator at YHL (ordered because I wanted the black with white trim which is made to order). I did get an Albion - it was lovely, but the Extra Full was too small for my extra full mare!
So I'm hoping that the Elevator will be lovely too.
They do come up small I think...my boys with a "pony" head has a full sized one, and although it fits nicely, I may well be getting an extra full browband for him to give him more space....
