Elevator Bridles

Hi everyone - My first time on here so here we go!!

Does anyone out there have any experience of the Elevator Bridle? I have a new horse who is sensitive in the poll area (this has been checked by a physio and he is OK - just a bit of a daisy!) I have been looking into these bridles but do not know anyone who uses one. I know there is the original Elevator (about £150 for bridle no reins), and also a Kieffer Ergonomic that appears to be the same design but is not so expensive (£100 inc reins).

Does anyone have any experience of either good or bad?

I have the Elevator. My horse had issues with his poll and this Bridle definitely made life better. I was dubious when buying it as it was a lot of money.

However the leather is beautifully soft (I haven't found a softer comfort bridle). I will certainly buying the same again in the future.

Hi down there! No sorry not from your way - Dreckly comes from my horse whose name is Done Dreckly (DD) - I believe his name came from his Cornish breeders (it is the way they say directly in that part of the Country).

Interested to see your post - thanks - I do not mind paying for something if it is worth the money and works! Did you feel it helped stabilise his head carriage?

Yes, I am from Cornwall which is why I thought your username "Dreckly" may have meant you were from these parts!! Howevre, it turns out it is your horse that is from "Down ere" LOL!!

Who was his breeder by the way?

My horse used to quite severely back off the bridle. It is hard to explain but basically he settled in to his bridle a lot more. I have had the bridle for over 3 years now so the problems are now a distant memory. I do remember feeling a distinct difference.

The elevator style definitely helps on horses with sensitive polls. My boy is very wimpy and sore around his poll and we have definitely found he is more comfortable in a comfort bridle. I would say though you don't need to spend that money - have a look at the Heritage, Rhinegold comfort bridles - you can get a new one for under £70 and they are just as good as the "Elevator". Exactly the same style, good English leather. Have a look on Ebay

My friend bought an Elevator bridle, the headpiece snapped within 6 weeks of purchasing it. Elevator said it is 'designed' to snap under pressure, she was lunging her horse at the time?! Last I had heard they were refusing to replace it and were saying she would have to buy a new headpiece for 120 quid.

I must say that I would be unwilling to spend that much on a bridle if they were unwilling to replace it if it broke after 6 weeks.

His breeder was a Mr and Mrs R Pearce from Boskenwyn, Helston - and a fine job they did - he's gorgeous!

I may seriously give this bridle a go - thanks!

I have one for a similar sensitive poll horse and he goes much better in it and is happier about having his bridle put on too. Took me forever to get the right fit but they were great, kept swapping it and adding holes, shortening bits - we ended up wiht pony cheek pieces, full noseband and cob headpiece!! (no he's not an odd shape really!)

I have recently bought a Heritage Comfort bridle (same style as elevator) for £43 inc reins (Ebay!!) and it's lovely, really nice English leather and very well made, very chuffed!

The Elevator is expensive but I think it is a lovely bridle. We have cheaper versions that seem fine for everyday use.

The Albion KB bridle is superior IMO. Gorgeous leather, lovely design and the padding is seriously soft

For under £50 you can't beat the heritage ones. Take care with sizing though as they come up big.

The Elevator is lovely.
I have two and absolutely love them. The leather is buttery soft and they are beautifully designed. I have one in Havanna and one in Black. Well worth the money IMO.
I had the Albion Comfort Snaffle before the Elevator and it was very smart, but more expensive and the design was not as good- it is'nt cut back behind the ears which is what really makes the Elevator so good.

have two snaffle ones and one double bridle elevator, and IMO they are lovely. Had no problems with them and the leather is lovely.

Archie has an elevator, its gorgeous - the leather is lovely and soft and it was definately worth the money. If i ever need to get him a double it will be the elevator version again.

I have to second or third the Heritage Comfort cost less than £40 excellent brilliant ... need I go on ...
