i was just wondering if anyone had seen this film, i saw it at the movies yesterday. when the scene with the white horse jumping off a spanish ship into the sea it got me thinking how far can horses swim and would they no the head in the direction of and if they could see it? sorry this is a bit random lol

Interesting question. I saw the film last week. My experiences of swimming horses have been with Berry when I was a teenager, swimming together of the Gower coast and also at KESMARC http://www.kesmarc.com/ We used to take the yearlings there to swim and/or use the aquatred mill, as part of their sales preparation.
