my mums horse - ellie is flying into any fence that you put her to...so much that you cannot hold onto her, you just have to let her go! She is now going so flat out into the fence that she is jumping flat and knocking down the poles! My mums old horse Rufus (who sadly had to be put down and is much missed R.I.P) had a mexican noseband. W have bought ellie one of these. Will this help to drop her head and steady up or not? She is only a young horse still so she is probably at her strongest but no-one can seem to hold her! Will this new noseband help or not?
*looks puzzled*

nosebands dont exert control of speed over the horse.. you would be better looking at the type of bit she is ridden in if you want something to help you hold her a little more tightly.

I am a tad worried when you say she is only a young horse, how young? Surely it would be better to go back to basic schooling and correct her habit of rushing rather than using a gadget? That is what I would do anyway.

well she isnt young like 3 or 4.
Yes she is young but only just turned 8!
We have decided to go pack to pole work and grids and then use poles to go into small fences.
Thankyou very much
