I wasn't expecting to see that

That is truly heart breaking to see but thank heavens that someone looking round the property saw them and reported it.

Looks like the US sentencing for this are about the same as ours and are a joke

wow im gob smacked, how on earth is the poor thing still standing

a year in prison is an absolute joke and that is the maximum

the old fart should be starved and left to live in his own dirt, seriously looks like were not the only country who needs to change their laws

Not sure about that.

It's heartbreaking.

Once again, I wonder if the US's policy on abolishing abottoires has had a helping hand in this.........

how terrible, I just can't understand why people bury their heads in the sand and keep animals till they reach that state.

What an unpleasant and irrelevant comment

Absolutely shocking image, poor horses.

Absolutely shocked to my core, what a brave creature, I cannot begin to imagine what those lovely animals have had to endure, why cant people face up to what is happening, and hand them over before this happens?

An absolute disgrace, not to mention again a measly fine and UPTO 1 year in jail. Maybe one month at my house would be better punishment for the wretched arsehole!! We should all volunteer are homes as alternative jail homes for these yellow bellys who mistreat animals!!

Just when I think humanity cant sink any lower, something like this always has to rear it ugly head.

Poor poor horses, how that 1st horse is still standing is quite frankly baffling me.

I get an online magazine from the US every week, and believe me, there are animals like this and worse up for adoption from various rescue centres every week. We think we see some sights in this country, but honestly it is a massive problem over there. For a start they have all the unwanted foals born in PMU "factories", then the simple neglect cases, horses bought from slaughter pens, unwanted racehorses and so on. It is heart breaking and the rescue places there do a fantastic job - you only have to see the before and after photos to realise this.

That's my feeling - HOW can someone stand by and watch that happen - it's not an overnight thing. If they can't feed them then they'd have been better off shooting them theirselves - I'd have thought better of them for that.
