Apologies if someone has already posted this elsewhere, I just got this email from my local riding club.
For those of you wondering how to best help in the Amersham rescue, I've just received email via hodgemoor member Tracey Knock from Sandra Williams (sandra@hearinghorses.com) who spent time this morning at the Horses Trust at Speen, near Princes Risborough who is dealing with 10 colts and geldings brought from Hyde Heath. What they need is donations (www.homeofrestforhorses.co.uk, and physical help while horses are in quarantine, ie yard duties between 7.30 to 10.30 and 11 to 13 and 14 to 16 hours. Contact Julie Bullard 01494 488464 if you can volunteer to do this. Don't send rugs. Too early for rehoming decisions but those who volunteer are on record.
Redwings (www.redwings.org.uk) received 21 of the horses, and this has risen to 22 as donkey foal was born yesterday! Again, donations are most useful way of helping. They have already received £20 000!
