So pleased with Emms. She was such a good girl. She won best bitch puppy which sounds great but she was the only one there! But so pleased with her behaviour and the way she coped with it, The first class was puppy class and she was the only one in the class so I cheekily asked the judge to explain what she was looking for, I know , cheeky but if you dont ask...Judge was lovely and explained everything as she went. We were only there for a play really. She was really reluctant to move off in the first class, then had to go against all the bitches ( no chance) but was more willing to go, then had to go for best puppy and she launched herself off when we had to run her up. The dog puppy beat her, rightly so as he was far more mature and chunky than Emma, but was pleased Emma was more confident by the end.

So we got best bitch puppy in show. Met some really nice people too. It is a shame there werent other bitch puppies there as tbh I really wanted to get a comparison as to how she is growing. But hey ho!:)

Not sure it is my thing tbh but enjoyed meeting other people and Emma now has a boyfriend called Eric!:D He was gorgeous!:D

Now we are both shattered!:):D

But at least I am not snoring...yet!:D

Yay well done Emma. There may have only been one in the class but judges are fully entitledto (and often do) withhold the award if they feel the dog isn't worthy of the prize. Glad you had a helpful judge, can make all the difference at your first show.:)

Thanks CC. It was very friendly, they even found me a safety pin as i didnt have a ring clip! I must write to the committee and thank them all. Having run horse shows in the past i know how much hard work it is with little thanks and just one word of thanks makes it worthwhile.:)

I might drop a line to the judge just to thank her for being so encouraging to a first timer.Do you think that would be ok?

**rocks back and forth, dribbling**

:p

Yeah, that would be a lovely thing to do, take that from an ass-kicking, much hated, clipboard-wielding old moaner :p

LOL! I think it goes back to the " running the show" days. I always make a point of thanking the secretary before I leave a horse show. Even if i have had a bad day i will always make the effort to thank the people running it. It is hard work organising a show. Some secretaries look quite shocked when i line up to say thanks a lot for running the show! :) They are usually expecting a moan i suspect!:) They always smile though! But didn't have time to say thankyou to everyone yesterday and feel bad about that.
