I had a look around your site this morning, you do great work-very commendable!
I will get together some items to send for your tack sale, so i hope you find them useful.

Can i ask how many residents you currently have at the mo and does your 'watch' extend to the north (lancs way)?

Thank you for your support, it enables us to do what we can.
I currently have three residents here in Shropshire, there are about 12 in the Herefordshire Sanctuary at Bromyard and the same at Talgarth, near Brecon. My three are Charlie, TB in his late 20s who came in last November having been abandoned in his field, and Sabria, a lovely 29 year old arab mare whose owner died, plus Homer, a 25 year old ex eventer being advertised for £100 when he did a tendon.
I am the closest to Lancashire, so any sales and markets attended are by preferably by volunteers - if anyone is attending one, get in touch and we will explain what to do to monitor - or you could send a report. You ideally need a copy of the regulations to monitor against, so PM an email address and I'll send them.
If you know of an equine at risk, let us know, ideally with photographs, and if we can't get there we will advise and maybe contact other agencies. Similarly if you have an equine you can't keep, and who is not saleable for whatever reason, visit the website and contact us.
I have travelled as far as Macclesfield and North Wales, but the cost of the diesel is a drain on resources if we can find a local volunteer to help - if I fetch a horse or pony into sanctuary the owner is expected to sign it over and pay certain expenses including transport. We can't use public donations just to help out people who can't cope, but the interests of the horse come first.
Similarly if you are looking for a companion horse or pony, get in touch, or even now and again we have one that can be ridden. Always on approved loan terms and always subject to regular home checks.

Thank you so much Blueberry - if you get chance please come and visit. Anyone is welcome (by arrangement please) and all volunteers are also welcome - to help in the sanctuaries, to monitor markets and sales or to do regular homechecks. PM me or the contact details are on the web site www.emwuk.org.uk
