encourage hair regrowth???

Does anybody know how to encourage hair re growth in a scar??

Or is that a no no?

If you can what to use?
also in vet.

I used some aloe vera gel when a horse lost hair due to skin infection. I have also heard vaseline is good for regrowth but no sure how true that is?

I have used in the past a very very small amount of cornucrescine rubbed into the scar area but only if the area is fully healed. Seems to act as a mild blister and seemed to get the hair to grow on my mares legs scars and kept the colour true (black).

Totally agree with this, Cornucrescine is what I've always used.

ok now im going to ask a really stupid question im not familiar with Cornucrescine is there different ones?????

I have never really bought any as never needed to,but sounds worth while getting.

Use the same one as used for hoof growth- is that what you mean by a different one?- may have misunderstood. It does work well and the hair comes back the correct colour

Well once we had got the the naked clean skin stage we have been wacking Aloe Vera Gel onto the flayed one and he now has peach fuzz growing. Taken about 2 weeks to see a differance.

Tip* if it is a large area warm it up in your hands as straight out of the pot it used to make him twitch somewhat!

Hi .
Our horse had some scaring when we 1st bought him, and this is what we done and it worked a treat, he now has hair where his scars were
When you 1st see the cut, clean it and put some sodacrem on 2 times a day every day until the scab from the cut goes then after a short time you will see a silver skin appear, once you see the silver skin fade away then use vaseline you then will find after a short while as if by magic his hair will be there and you will never have know it was a cut, scar or bald patch.
So to cut along story short in your case vasaline will restore his hair.
I used the vaseline on my head and if by magic it never worked for me

. But it does work on the horse
