Evening all.

My newly aquired Welsh Sec B hates the bit being put in his mouth. (His teeth and bit have been checked at both are fine). He is 3 turning 4, backed last year, bought on, turned away and now in work again.

I can see it's just him being a baby about it, but don't want it to turn into a bad habit.

Does anyone have any tips of how to make it a nicer experience for him? Someone suggested putting jam on the bit which worked well but was rather messy!

Thank you.

You can try wrapping the bit in that sealtex bandage, it's supposed to make it warmer and easier to accept for babies and horses/ponies with soft mouths, you can also smear something nice on it without it going everywhere!
