Am I correct to think its this time of the year I need to worm for encysted red worm? I stupidly wormed with Eqvalan Duo 3 weeks ago for tapeworm and general worm programme (horse was worm counted over summer) without realising that it did not cover encysted red worm.

Would it be too soon to worm again? (different type of worm - Equest this time).

I have heard November for encysted red worm but have also heard Dec, so it would help if people had ideas!

thanks

Not a waste atall, tapeworms are the ones to be wormed for in Autumn so using the Eqvalan Duo is correct. Worm for encysted redworm with your Equest in January..

Oh thanks all, shall wait till Jan :) not a waste then, and I have now read more about wormers than I ever knew existed so that should help me with my new wormer programme I'm putting them on!

any time before the spring emergence of the encysteds (ie when they become a problem). I do ours end of December. you were correct to use duo when you did.

You will need to worm for tapeworm again in Spring, Equest Pramox for example, then worm count through Summer, worm for tapeworm again in Autumn, then encysted redworms again in January time and so on. Interesting stuff when you read and learn about the different worms and wormers out there!

I forgot to worm on time for tape worm so just about to use pramox which does them all. We poo pick every day so I'm sure it will be fine. Worm yours in about a month and that should be fine since you done them recently.

Based on all the reading I think I'm firmly converted to now using equest promax twice a year (spring and autumn) and worm counting rest of year! But it has been so confusing, I have spent a lot of time trying to figure it all out!
