Ok i may be shot down in flames for my actions but here goes anyway!!

I had a couple of bad luck experiences with horses last year. One went back to it's owner, and one i couldn't return. Woman i bought him off was a tw*t basically and long story short i ended up with a horse i couldn't keep.
I bought him as a mother daughter share, he put the fear of god into my daughter, and after a lot of deliberating, we sent him to a dealer (friend of a friend, kind of) there was no way i could have sold him on myself. And call me a cow, but i put too much into my a horse to get nothing in return!! (have now found my perfect neddy)

Dealer sold him, well PX'd him, in May. Said he was on a months trial, and then when PX horse was sold, i would get my money. OK that's cool

It is now nearly September, and although PX horse has been and gone, i still have no money.

I tried the nice approach, then the solicitor, trading standards approach. My calls are ignored and my texts left unreplied, unless i threaten some kind of action.
The cheque has apparantly been on it's way for a fortnight. Still waiting!!!
Now "apparantly" it has been posted today

I now know this dealer has ripped off someone else i know, really don't want it to end up in court, but really have had enough now.
I am a soft touch, and let things build up and up until, i explode. Then it aint pretty

I didn't want a battle, just wanted back what i paid for this horse, now i seem to have to fight to the death for it.
Has anyone else found themselves in this kind of situation, and what was the outcome??
Sorry rant over, just needed to let off steam

Visit them in person and don't leave til you get a cheque (do the 'Don't mind me, I'll just wait here (in your drive) while you fetch it'
Make sure you say hello loudly to any potential customers and explain why you are waiting LOL.

I know of another 'dealer' who sells horses on these sorts of terms, and you'll never see any money out of her , even with a county Court judgement - let's hope your chap is a little better. I would make a firm appointment to visit him and collect.

god, what a nightmare. i think i'd take a couple of big strong thuggy blokes as bodyguards and go there and say you're not leaving until you get your money. very sorry to hear a story like this... some people are the absolute pits.
i really hope you've got a receipt or something for the horse, if it has to go to court. very very best of luck.

Oh sorry forgot to mention....
Electric gates!!!!
You can't get in unless they say so..... "funny that"
I have seen several more "for sale on behalf of a client" ads on her website, and wonder if they are looking at the same fate

I'm mean and if they didn't pay me back, I'd get revenge...by phoning up and booking appointments to see the other horses for sale...under a false name...it'll waste his time and therefore money.
A more direct (and less mean) route might be to take legal action, depending on the value involved.

Or ... the pen is mightier than the sword ..... write up a nice little report, send it to anyone who might be interested, pin a few up in the lanes around the place, start sending them out chain letter wise on the internet.... as long as you stick to facts you can't be done for libel ... and just keep on until he pays you.

can you make an appointment in a false name to go and see what they have got and then say actually im here for my dough!!

Good idea, thats what i would do, arrange to see a horse in a false name, turn up with a big bloke in a car they wont recognise then once they let u in refuse to go without the money!

Thanks everyone.
I will see if the invisible cheque arrives in the next couple of days, lol
Thanks for the small claims link OWLIE185
Do you have to pay for this???
